Machining methods

With the advent of micromachining technology, highly efficient micro heat exchangers with flow path depths ranging from a few microns to several hundred microns can be produced. Such micromachining techniques include lithography, chemical etching, photolithography-injection molding (LIGA), diamond cutting, wire cutting and ion beam processing. Sintered mesh porous micro heat exchangers are fabricated using powder metallurgy. The processing of microchannels at large scales is significantly different to that of microchannels at microscale, with the former requiring more efficient processing and manufacturing techniques.
